.IT Domain Name Registrations

Established in 1987, Italy’s dot IT country-specific top-level domain is quite popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for constructing imaginative and appealing domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to create an easy-to-learn domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to go back to your website or to share it with associates and friends. Having in mind the fact that dot IT domains are not sold directly by IT-NIC, the Registry organization that manages this top-level extension, such a domain can be acquired through a 3rd-party company, such as ours. You can book a .IT domain for one year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our firm and we will renew it once the transfer has been finished. The sole limitation is that the person booking such a domain has to be located in a country from the European Union.

As there are existing 2nd-level Domains that include names of different territories and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that include geographical regions of any kind are not allowed on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not support such 3rd-level domains, though, because they can be registered only by locals.
