.NAME Domains

Introduced in 2001, the .NAME generic top-level extension is the only one intended for personal sites only. These domains can be personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other titles people are known by. At the beginning, solely 3rd-level registrations were allowed, so if you desired to order john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already acquired third-level names remained active.

You will be able to edit the WHOIS contact info, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already registered domain to our company if you have its EPP transfer authorization code from the present domain registrar and we will renew it after the transfer has been completed. There are no specific prerequisites on who can register a dot NAME domain name, but in order to keep the objective behind its establishment alive, the .NAME Registry organization may verify who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration might be challenged.
